The second merit list for undergraduate courses is likely to be released today by the Mumbai University. This year, more than 7.8 lakh applications have been made by 2.6 lakh students for first year admissions at Mumbai University.
The first merit list was announced by colleges in the city on Monday, June 17, 2019. As per the reports, the number of applications this year is lower. This could be attributed to the lower success rate at HSC.
The number of UG seats offered by the varsity is expected to rise this year. "This year about 21-22 new colleges got permission and the existing colleges could add new divisions and permissions through government resolutions will be given soon. It will add between 5 and 10% to the intake capacity. So, the number of seats exceeds that of applicants," said a university official.
The students who submitted applications for admission to UG courses are advised to visit the official website of the varsity to check their name on the 2nd merit list.
