For admission to the wide variety of courses offered at the university, an application form is accessible on the university’s official website. Candidates who are qualified and interested must go to the university website to submit their applications.
- Candidates must have received a passing grade in the relevant subject in class 12 from an established board to be eligible for admission to undergraduate programs. Candidates for postgraduate courses must have a graduate degree in a relevant field and a minimum GPA of 50%. A graduate degree is required for entry to research programs.
- Entrance testing is the first step in the selection process, which also includes a group discussion and interview stage. The final decision is made based on how well each candidate performed overall.
- Candidates with a GATE score are exempt from the entrance exam for the M.Tech program. The GD and PI rounds take into account the shortlisted candidates’ marks.

Scholarships
One Pandit Mahanand Dangwal Scholarship (Kirti Nagar, Tehri Garhwal)
For deserving students at Doon University, the university has established approximately 8–10 Scholarships of Rs. 3,000 ($3,0) per month, funded by an endowment given by Shri Brijnandan Dangwal of Dehradun, subject to performance evaluation on an annual basis by the approved guidelines.
Department of Social Welfare E Scholarship
Every year, the SC/ST/OBC candidates from Uttarakhand who are pursuing higher education in universities or colleges are invited to submit applications for the award of e-Scholarships by the Social Welfare Department of the Uttarakhand Government. The website www.escholarship.uk.gov.in of the Uttarakhand Social Welfare Department has information about the program. Each scholarship and award shall be administered by the terms and conditions that may occasionally be attached to it. Students who meet the eligibility requirements can ask the university administration for help.
Doon University Students Aid Fund (DUSAF)
DUSAF is only given for a single year. It was created to give deserving and low-income students financial support.
Placements
Campus placement is offered to qualified students by the School of Management with renowned companies like the Royal Bank of Scotland, Amazon.com, Infosys, SAGE Publications, LBF Inc., Safeducate, Policybazaar.com, Jingles India, New Hindustan TV Channel, Posterity Hr Consulting, American Express, IGT technologies, ICCI Bank, HDFC Life, Tacky Minds, Live Technician, Airtel, and Planman Consulting, among others. The school strives towards employability throughout all programs, and its main goal is to instill employability to the greatest extent feasible in every student. To provide students with the best support possible, the school also conducts a variety of activities for their improvement, including career counseling sessions, soft skills workshops, and pre-placement lectures.
Media, communication, and education account for the biggest percentage of Doon University graduates working in these fields (25%), followed by operational and sales (15%), business development (12%), and research and IT (12%). Other industries that employ a sizable portion of alumni include arts & design, marketing, and consulting.
A total of 19 UG students were placed during the Dehradun University placement in 2021, according to the NIRF report 2024. Additionally, Dehradun University offered UG (3-year) and UG (4-year) students median compensation packages of INR 3.97 LPA and INR 2.40 LPA, respectively. In addition to this, 2 students in total were placed at the PG (2-year) placement in 2021. In terms of packages, the average was INR 3.84 LPA.\
The Career Counseling Training and Placement Cell of Doon University was specifically created to assist and educate students concerning their career plans. To provide students with the most exposure possible, the college sponsors campus placement drives in addition to pre-placement events.

Amenities and Facilities
- The library is entirely digitized, and it subscribes to over 40 print periodicals, 34 magazines, and 30 electronic publications.
- In addition to this, the Library also makes available through INFLIBNET consortium access to more than 5000 e-journals.
- The Library subscribes to 74 academic journals and magazines in total (40 journals and 34 magazines), which cover a wide range of topics.
- On campus, there are separate dorms for boys and girls. Single rooms are offered and come equipped with all the necessities.
- Auditorium: The university contains a Senate Hall/Auditorium with a capacity of 200 people that can be used for a variety of symposiums, lectures, and events.
- Extracurricular Activities: The university also organizes extracurricular events to develop students’ personalities in general.
- The campus of Doon University has both a dormitory for males (Shivalik Hostel) and a hostel for girls (Alaknanda Hostel). The hostels have contemporary amenities such as a mess-dining room, solar-heated water supply, Wi-Fi, a gym, badminton, Carom, newspaper stands, and a waiting area for visitors.
